Guerilla Toss w/ DJ Bhodi

Lost Lake Presents Guerilla Toss with DJ Bhodi on Wednesday, August 30 — Dig deep enough inside yourself—start treating your body as your sanctuary rather than your enemy—and eventually you’ll find yourself blooming right back out into the sun. That’s the transformation Guerilla Toss trace on their newest album “Famously Alive,” their effervescent Sub Pop debut. After a decade sprinkling glitter into grit, building a reputation as one of the most ferociously creative art-rock groups working, the upstate New York band have eased fully into their light. This is Guerilla Toss at their most luminescent—awake, alive, and extending an open invitation to anyone who wants to soak it all up beside them. Singer and lyricist Kassie Carlson, multi-instrumentalist Peter Negroponte and guitarist Arian Shafiee wrote “Famously Alive” at home in the Catskills during the pervading quiet of the pandemic year. The uncertainty of COVID-19 lockdowns and the total disruption of routine forced Carlson to negotiate with herself in new and challenging ways. “You have to be with yourself all the time during the pandemic,” she says. “I had to figure out a way to manage my anxiety. The pandemic was hard, but it helped me get comfortable inside my own body. My peace of mind came out of being thrust into the deepest shit. This album is all about being happy, being alive, and strength. It’s meant to inspire people.” The album’s title derives from a poem written by a close friend of the band, Jonny Tatelman, who supported Carlson through the early stages of her recovery from opiate addiction. The poem comprises the entirety of the lyrics to the title track, an exuberant ode to loving your own survival and charting a course into unconditional self-acceptance. “The song ‘Famously Alive’ is about living with purpose and excitement whether you’re famous or not, accepting your strangeness and thriving even if your successes look different than other people’s,” notes Carlson. “To me, ‘Famously Alive’ means flipping the notion of dying famously to living famously,” Negroponte adds. “I also like to think of it as a way to describe living through something traumatic and coming out of it a stronger, wiser person.” – 16+, under 16 admitted with ticketed guardian

The Bros. Landreth: Come Morning Tour w/ Roman Clarke

Lost Lake Presents The Bros. Landreth: Come Morning Tour with Roman Clarke on Friday, September 29th. The Bros. Landreth welcome a new day with Come Morning, an album that marks both a rebirth and refinement of the JUNO-winning band’s blend of North American roots music and harmony-heavy soul. The most immersive, emotive record of the Landreths’ career, Come Morning finds brothers Joey and Dave lacing their melody-driven songs with layers of atmospheric synth, organ, and textured guitar. The group’s previous albums shone a light on their strength as a live act, capturing the spontaneity and sonic stomp of a band of hard-touring road warriors. If those records unfolded like snapshots of The Bros. Landreth’s nighttime shows, then Come Morning sketches a markedly different picture, showcasing the introspection and clarity that comes with a long period of rest. For Joey and Dave, rest wasn’t always an easy thing to find. After pursuing separate careers as sidemen, they launched The Bros. Landreth with 2013’s Let It Lie, a debut album that drew upon the shared soundtrack of their childhood—Bonnie Raitt’s blues, Little Feat’s funky country-rock, Ry Cooder’s eclectic instrumentals, Lyle Lovett’s twangy traditionalism—for a sound that saluted the past while planting its flag firmly in the present. Let It Lie was a hit on both sides of the Atlantic, winning the 2015 JUNO Award for “Roots & Traditional Album Of The Year-Group,” earning The Bros. Landreth a nomination for “International Artist of the Year” at the 2016 UK Americana Music Awards, and receiving praise from heroes like Bonnie Raitt. Years of near-constant touring in support of its release left the brothers exhausted, however, and the band took a three-year break before regrouping for 2019’s ’87.When the Covid-19 pandemic brought ’87’s accompanying tour to a halt, Joey and Dave began recording a new batch of songs in near-seclusion, pulling long hours in the studio and building songs one instrument at a time. They layered, experimented, and twisted sounds into something new, working alongside longtime co-producer Murray Pulver and a small group of guests. What emerged from those sessions was Come Morning: a transportive album built for the heart, the head, and the headphones.- 16+, under 16 admitted with ticketed guardian
Bombargo w/ Tiny Tomboy

Lost Lake Presents Bombargo with Tiny Tomboy on Thursday, September 21 –Bombargo is a Canadian based international touring band that drops a vibrant splash of soul over their distinctive ‘vintage-pop’ sound. Well known for bringing unrivaled energy to the stage with sing-along anthems, double-brother harmonies, and a powerful message that combined make for one of the most captivating live shows ever! Frontman Nathan Thoen’s passionate conviction and ‘Jagger-like’ dance moves even impressed billionaire and music industry icon Sir Richard Branson, quoting “I haven’t seen this type of energy since The Rolling Stones!” – and he would know, having personally signed The Rolling Stones to Virgin Records. The band began with lead singer Nathan Thoen and guitarist Spencer Chilliak after the two spontaneously met and drove 16 hours to attend Sasquatch Music Festival where they became inspired to start a band. The duo wrote their debut single “Let It Grow” during their very first writing session and as part of Bombargo’s debut EP Back on Main which would go on to be included in “The Top 10 Best Saskatchewan Albums of 2015” by SaskMusic. This further inspired them to continue writing, touring, and release their first full-length album titled We Are Bombargo. The group has since evolved into a 7-piece touring band adding Nathan’s brother Anthony Thoen on guitar, additional brothers Matt and Sammy Folkersen on keys and bass respectively, Connor Newton on saxophone, and Niall Cubbon on drums.Bombargo went on to receive massive acclaim when pop star icon Taylor Swift added their 2018 single “Mr. No Good” to her Spotify Playlist titled “Songs Taylor Loves” alongside mega artists including Ed Sheeran, Camilla Cabello, and Kendrick Lamar. Being the only unsigned band on this star-studded playlist saw Bombargo featured on CBC’s the Q, NME, Exclaim, Fashion, Noisey, People, and Billboard. This success was followed up by the release of their most successful single to date – “Oxygen” which pushed Bombargo into the Canadian Hot AC Top 40 Charts for the first time in the fall of 2019. The band also made its US touring debut in late 2019 with their 33 date “North American Dream Tour” which kicked off with Bombargo playing the sold-out Roughriders Labour Day Classic Half-Time Show to over 33,000 people. The band’s highly anticipated US debut at Hotel Cafe in Hollywood, CA gained heavy press coverage including a raving article in Billboard Magazine.Bombargo has opened for legendary acts including John Butler Trio, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Joel Plaskett and most recently performed on the Okeechobee festival main stage in Florida with over 40,000 in attendance. They have surpassed 4.5 million streams on Spotify, received over 715,000 views on YouTube, and were nominated for the Saskatchewan Music Awards “Pop/Rock Artists of the Year” in both 2018 and 2019. In August of 2020 the band landed a ‘most excellent’ cameo in the hollywood blockbuster “Bill & Ted 3: Face The Music”. There’s no doubt Bombargo will continue spreading The Goodtime GuaranteeTM long into the future with the release of their new album ‘nubula.’ (released in May of 2022), and upcoming “Goodtime Guarantee Tour” this coming fall.- 16+, under 16 admitted with ticketed guardian
