Lost Lake Presents PRYVT on Wednesday, April 1 —

Formed on Discord in 2023, atmospheric indie rock band PRYVT launched their career with a highly unusual feat, amassing more than 20 million streams, landing on Spotify’s Viral 50 charts in several countries, and booking headline slots at venerated venues like LA’s Teragram Ballroom and Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg, all before the members had ever even met in person.

“The first time we rehearsed, I don’t think we could really believe what was happening,” says singer/guitarist Hanuel. “I’d crossed paths with [guitarist/producer] JT at an audio school here in Vancouver, where we were both born and raised, but HNATA, who plays bass and guitar with us, lives in Indonesia, so we weren’t even on the same continent until our music had already started taking off.”

While PRYVT’s whirlwind rise may have happened in the blink of an eye, the band’s captivating debut, &Scene, is a measured and deliberate affair. The music is lush and dreamy, built on hazy, reverb-soaked guitars and hypnotic, laidback grooves, and the production is mesmerizing to match, with Hanuel’s breathy, intimate vocals always front and center in the mix. At times, the lyrics slip between English and Korean, but the emotions they convey transcend language, and the result is more than just an album; it’s a borderless sonic world to get lost in, an immersive, cinematic blend of alt-rock and bedroom pop that erases time and distance, allowing millions of listeners to find each other and themselves -in the process.
