Chad Tepper w/ Elektric Animals + hellocentral

93.3 KTCL Presents Chad Tepper with Elektric Animals and hellocentral on Thursday, September 12th.     Chad Tepper, the musician with a vibrant persona earning him over 4 million followers on social media, has definitely spent some time in the limelight. Since moving from Orlando, Florida to Los Angeles in 2015 he’s jumped at every opportunity to grow his fanbase, showcasing his larger-than-life personality through stuntman-like antics and gnarly skateboard tricks. But in more recent years he has shifted focus to his true passion – making music – and building a lasting legacy in the alternative world.   Since hitting the studio for the first time 4 years ago, the singer & guitarist is proving to be our generation’s next authentic rockstar. The effortlessly grunge quality of his voice combined with an all or nothing mindset and flair for storytelling find him equipped with the tools he needs for a fruitful career. Already seeing streams in the millions – over 15 million this past year alone – his talents have been recognized by industry majors such as Apple 1, Spotify, Lyrical Lemonade, KROQ among others. 2021 saw huge milestones for Tepper, boasting dream collaborations with Simple Plan, Travie McCoy and Cheat Codes; all acts that he grew up listening to and influenced the artist he is now.   But there’s more to Chad than meets the eye; the tattooed ex-pro skater wouldn’t be the success story he is today without his fair share of hardship. The unfortunate fate of his early life saw Chad facing seven years of childhood homelessness, an experience that forever shaped the person and artist that he is today. “It was a moment in time and history of my life that I’ll never forget and honestly shaped me so much,” Tepper explained. “I wouldn’t be who I am without it and beyond that it is the reason why I write music the way I do.”   After getting his first cassette player from a homeless shelter when he was 6, Tepper was destined to make music. Growing up watching icons from the 70’s such as Rick James, Freddie Mercury and Elton John, he also was impressed by early pop-punk, alt-rock and grunge that inform the high-powered music he makes now. Finding himself coming back to emotionally charged lyrics full of self-depracating coping mechanisms, Chad reflects, “For some reason, my lyrics are all about love, heartbreak and being a fucking loser my whole life.”   An entertainer at heart, if you’re lucky enough to see a live Chad Tepper show you’ll be able to witness his outgoing energy and charisma as he commands the stage, loving and embracing every second of life. His flair for theatrics and passion for captivating audiences are a recipe for a truly dynamic performance. He gives 100% of himself and sometimes admittedly gets a little too in the moment, noting “All the crazy stuff I’m known for sometimes comes out too hahaha – it’s like a punk show from the 70s.”   He isn’t afraid to bare it all (literally) to the world and with his recent signing to the legendary Epitaph Records, he’s ready to dive head-first into a new era. When it comes down to it, Chad just wants to share his story. “My music is real. I’m a storyteller. It’s all my past or things I believe for my future. I’m never scared to be vulnerable and I think that’s relatable.” All ages, ticketed under 16 guests admitted with ticketed parent or guardian

Mr. Gnome w/ Spyderland + Glass Human

Lost Lake Presents Mr. Gnome with Spyderland and Glass Human on Tuesday, October 15th.     Pushing the limits of sonic exploration, Cleveland art-rock duo, Mr. Gnome, create a living, breathing, shapeshifting realm of psychedelic orchestration on their eagerly anticipated LP, A Sliver of Space, set to be released September 27th on El Marko Records.    Today, the duo share the swirling, hypnotic first single from the record, “Nothing and Everything.” The track is filled with the uncertainty, fear, sadness and confusion over the unexpected losses the duo experienced during the recording process, leaving them feeling like the world had shifted in the wrong direction. .    Mixed by Claudius Mittendorfer (Interpol, Tennis, Temples, Panic at the Disco, Parquet Courts, Ra Ra Riot), A Sliver of Space explodes with hypnotic, gritty rock anthems that suddenly give way to long-form, drug-fueled journeys that transport the listener on a surreal trip from start to finish. Continuing to defy simple genre classification, Mr. Gnome creates a dense tapestry of textures, aural fabrics, and influences that all coalesce into a unique, defining sound. Throughout its relatively compact runtime, electronica, desert rock, punk, indie rock, and lush soundscapes swirl and converge, all woven with the continuous thread of lead singer/guitarist, Nicole Barille’s golden harmonies.   “When we started writing A Sliver of Space,” they describe, “we were working through a lot of personal loss and life upheaval. Lyrically and musically, nothing was off limits and we dove headfirst into really exploring the liminal, dreamlike spaces between life and death, consciousness and unconsciousness, the past and the future, happiness and sadness, the real and the make believe. This album is essentially about our descent into madness and our ultimate salvation through love.”   Since 2005, Barille and drummer/pianist Sam Meister have been crafting a vision of expansive, technicolor art-rock, receiving critical acclaim from the likes of Rolling Stone (named “Band To Watch” in a spotlight review), Pitchfork, NPR, Paste, Esquire, Spin, Magnet, MTV, KEXP, and American Songwriter, among others. In addition to this wholly-realized sonic presentation, Mr. Gnome has an extensive history of producing head-turning DIY visuals in the form of otherworldly album covers, artistic press photography and mind-bending short films.   Such ambitious audiovisual presentation is matched perhaps only by the energy of their live shows, as Mr. Gnome has long held a strong cult following across the United States for their cathartic, raucous performances. This sixth release sees the long-awaited return of Mr. Gnome to the stage for their upcoming, coast-to-coast U.S. tour this fall. They will be joined by touring guitarist/bassist, Jonah Meister, who is also a featured player on A Sliver of Space.   Whether via sound, visuals, or live experience, Mr. Gnome has a knack for taking the beautiful monsters that exist within all of us and shining a glorious light on them. A Sliver of Space finds beauty in chaos by alchemically fusing spectral sounds with a widescreen cinematic perspective. This soaring, introspective musical journey constantly beckons the listener – to get lost watching stars explode, to gaze upon souls splitting and swirling to reunite, and to melt their minds if only for a moment.   Won’t you join them?     All ages, ticketed under 16 guests admitted with ticketed parent or guardian

Gilligan Moss w/ OLAN (DJ) (Foreign Family) + GOLDSTAR

Lost Lake Presents Gilligan Moss with OLAN (DJ) (Foreign Family) and GOLDSTAR on Friday, September 6th.     The Brooklyn-based duo composed of childhood friends Ben + Evan – announce their new album Speaking Across Time, set for release August 23rd on ODESZA’s Foreign Family Collective imprint in partnership with Ninja Tune. The album follows their widely loved self-titled debut from 2021 and a steady stream of singles throughout 2022 and 2023, which resulted in the duo receiving impressive support from the likes of BBC R1, 6Music, KCRW and KEXP.   On Speaking Across Time, each of the album’s 12 tracks encapsulate personal moments through a lens of timelessness. 90s rave, old country, 70s soul, honky-tonk piano house, and even a sample of poet and longtime mentor David Mason collide under Gilligan Moss’ skillful incorporation of samples and modern dance music production. As the duo elaborate, “[The album] is a couple years in the making is the result of a period of growth- equal parts uncomfortable and joyous. We wanted to make a record that draws from different corners of our lives, and explores how creation and collaboration change over time- and how music can outlast us.”   With the announcement they share their kaleidoscopic lead single “Still Wonder” featuring vocals from Canadian singer songwriter Charlie Houston. Speaking on working with Charlie Houston, Gilligan Moss says, “Charlie is the ultimate collaborator: she is a great writer, has a natural ear for melody, and we also share the same birthday so sympathetic Aquarian energies abound. We met on tour with ODESZA and pretty quickly felt a natural creative connection. This song was written in Toronto at her home where we were able to capture a very intimate feeling. “Still Wonder” is about the constant re-imagination of an old relationship, and the contortion act of trying to play things out differently in your mind in different timelines.” Listen to “Still Wonder” here.   The band worked with visual artist Orly Anan Studios in Mexico City to create colorful costumes and masks for the album package and single art. Gilligan Moss says, “We’re so grateful and pleased with the artistic collaborator we found in Orly Anan. Right away she challenged us to connect with the music in more personal and meaningful ways, and the sets and costumes she created took the whole project to a new place. The artwork is an exploration of duality, splitting, twinship, and togetherness. Orly was critical to the mission.”  All ages, ticketed under 16 guests admitted with ticketed parent or guardian
